Light truck or light-duty truck is a US classification for trucks or truck-based vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rate (GVWR) up to 8,500 lbs and a payload capacity up to 4,000 lbs. This incudes vans, minivans, sport utility vehicles(SUVs), and pickup trucks.
Leases include private and retail figures, corporate or government fleet leases are not included.
Edmunds sales include vehicles up to class 5 with GVWR 19,500 lbs.

a New vehicle leases are sold by the dealer to a finance company that manages the lease, causing them to be included by default in most car sales figures.
